Because of her alcohol problems, former football world champion Hope Solo (USA) undergo addiction therapy.
The 40-year-old announced her decision a month after her temporary arrest due to alcohol at the wheel and endangerment of her children. The former world-class goalkeeper went to a clinic for the withdrawal.
"I voluntarily start inpatient treatment to address the challenges of alcohol," Solo wrote on social media: "My whole energy and concentration are now aimed at my health, my healing and care for my family."
According to media reports, the two-time Olympic champion was arrested in the parking lot of a shopping center in Winston-Salem/North Carolina at the end of March. According to the witnesses, solo is said to have slept at the wheel for over an hour while the engine is running, while her two -year -old twin children were sitting in the back seat. Her lawyer later let the popular ex-player be released and first replaced the incident.
Solo won with the US national team of women in Beijing in 2008 and Olympic gold in London in 2012. Three years after her second Olympic victory, the keeper also stood between the posts at the World Cup triumph of the US team.
