Twitch restores the transmission keys after piracy

In case somehow you missed it, Twitch confirmed that, in fact, there was an infringement last week that filtered a lot of details about the online transmission service. Later, the company shared an update on what type of data had been part of the violation, including the fact that it did not believe that no type of login credentials of complete credit card numbers would have been exposed. That said, Twitch ended up restoring the precautionary transmission.

We have learned that some data were exposed to the Internet due to an error in a change of configuration of the Twitch server to which later a malicious third approached, says the full twitch statement on rape. Our teams are urgently working to investigate the incident.

What a Weirdo! SPOTTED TRUNKFISH!!! LIVE on Twitch.tv!

By precaution, we have restored all the transmission keys. You can get your new transmission key here: https://t.co/lby1wfs0ss. For more information, visit the Twitch Blog: https://t.co/jdxlpo0py4

In terms of what people should do to return to the transmission on Twitch, it depends on the transmission software that these people really use. In terms of Twitch Studio, Streamlabs, Xbox, PlayStation and twitch mobile application, streamers should not have to do... nothing, actually. Ob users that have been connected to Twitch must manually update their transmission key in Obs and can obtain it from their TWITCH control panel. Other software and applications may have different needs to return to transmission.

As we note when covering the initial report of the hack, Twitch has been working to address serious harassment problems on the platform recently. He added new account verification options last month to better dissuade hate raids and the like. No one should have to experience malicious and hate attacks based on who they are or what they represent, said the company in August. This is not the community we want on Twitch, and we want you to know that we are working hard to make twitch a safer place for the creators».
